Bukhansan National Park in Dobong gu District

Bukhansan National Park in Dobong-gu District, Ui-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul is one of the most famous national park in South Korea which is located to the north of Han River. The meaning of Bukhansan is ‘big mountain’ and this attraction in northern Seoul is also called Mt. Samgaksan or Bukhan Mountain. The first thing you noticed at Bukhansan National Park is that the mountain ridges are covered with a long stretch of deep pink as the famous spring Azaleas begin to bloom.

Interesting cultural attractions in Bukhansan include King Jinheung’s Sunsubi on Bibong Peak, the Bukhansanseong Fortress and Sangunsa Temple. Bukhansan is also an ideal hiking destination in Korea and the best time for hikers to visit Bukhansan is during spring when the flowers are blooming. The Children’s Grand Park in Neung-dong, Gwangjin-gu is also a popular tourist area in Seoul during spring because you get to view the amazing scenery of the cherry blossom trees.

Besides the spectacular scenery, you will also find a zoo, amusement park and numerous flower gardens and sculptures at the Children’s Grand Park.
